Would you rather have the orx over the anfibio?

I chose the orx

I have a Deus so I'm biased and know nothing about the Anfibio, so My vote would go to the ORX

I’ve heard the anfibio is quite a good performer
But it is weighty and there are a lot of settings options,
I chose the ORX because of the extreme light weight
and simplicity of settings. I sold my equinox after I got my orx
only because I wasn’t getting the results with it that I was
getting with the Orx.

Equinox and ORX are my favorite detectors. I have used the Multi Kruzer and the Gold Kruzer which are similar to the Anfibio but lighter. The ORX has much better ergonomics and detects just as well in the coin modes and prospects almost as well as the Gold Kruzer in the gold modes. The Gold Kruzer is an outstanding prospecting detector, by the way, but putting it in a back pack and swinging it all day are much harder to do than the ORX.

I have a Deus and anfibio. I don't have the orx.The anfibio is as deep than the Deus in my soil.It is different than the multi Kruzer, the 2 should not be said that they are similar. The anfibio is as similar to the Deus as it is the multi Kruzer. Weight is a huge difference, I use the auxiliary battery pack, it is noticeably heavier but balances nicely when swinging the coil. It is six of one, half a dozen of another as to which one out performs the other at the end of the day.The Deus has a slight advantage in square nail infested ground but I would not be afraid to use either machine in any scenario.

I had both of them at the same time. The anfibio is a good unit. I liked it alot. The pros to it are, water proof, very well made, extremely durable best screen on the market. Large ID numbers and lighted display. Very good metal detector. It goes deep and has decent separation.

The cons are pretty much one......it is too heavy to haul around for long periods of time and there is just way too many search settings.

I got better performance and separation with the ORX. The pros to the ORX is light weight, fast, deep and only 4 search programs with 2 custom savable slots.

The cons to the ORX are not water proof. So you can just pull the remote off and put it in your pocket when it starts to rain.

I like it way way better than the anfibio because of how light weight the ORX is.

I've owned a couple of Deus' detectors in the past, picked up an Anfibio and liked everything about it but the tones. I just didn't mesh with it in heavy iron. I purchased the ORX and haven't looked back, very happy with it.

Tone wise how does it compare to the Equinox? Thinking about picking up either a Deus or Equinox....but thought since the Deus has been out awhile
maybe there is a hardware change to the control box on the horizon.

I think any changes to the Deus or ORX would be to the software. I trust to make regular and meaningful updates more so than minelab. I had my Etrac for years and saw no updates.

I would think that wouldn't change with the equinox.

Guess Minelab did recently make a software update to the Equinox regarding picking up crown bottlecaps and working in iron.

Too bad XP doesn't combine some features of the Deus and Orx together. I like the larger display on the Orx, Iron probability meter, auto ground tracking feature and 5 tones would be nice.

I agree about the larger numerical display on the ORX. My vision isn't what it used to be, and the larger numbers are definitely easier to read. With regard to the iron probability, doesn't the horseshoe do basically the same thing on the Deus?

Only if your discrimination is 6 or higher.
