If you had to buy a new PI what would it be?

I would like to buy a PI for salt water hunting and diving and was wondering what the most popular ones were. It does not need to be real deep, but I do want it to be sensitive to some of the smaller gold.
Thanks
Tommy

I do not know the sensitivity of the Fischers, but thought they were more for wreck diving. The White's Pi Pro will do the job and is sensitive to smaller gold objects, as well as, the HH PI(Eric Foster design) will also, both are reasonable cost, the Fischers is not.

HH PI is a good choice, contact Mr. Bill at surfscanner.com, one of the sponsors of this forum. He can give you lots of good advice.

Tough to beat a GoldQuest. Great sensitivity to small Gold and Great depth!!! I highly recommend the GQ!!!!!

Then the Aquasearch! Same machine in a waterproof case. I forgot my GQ is waterproofed and I do use it in the water.

I hate to pick on this, but the Aquasearch is only good for 6'!, he said diving which to me means alot more than 6', is why I didn't list it. Don

Yes Bob here in the UK,have found lots of gold with the goldquest, great PI. detector and resonably cheap <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Bob, it was not to desire to critize anything about your post, but to clarify that the Aquasearch is limited on depth and not really a diving detector. I think some confusion comes about from the Aquastar(now discontinued) which was and the Aquasearch which is limited to surf waterproofing mainly.

No confusion at all. Your comments should have been made to the poster not to me. You are not a moderator, so address the poster and not others like myself who are trying to help someone. He did ask for the most sensitive beach hunting PI, and that is what I answered. I just get offended when someone sticks his nose into my business. I've bee posting on this forum for quite sometime and didn't deserved to be talked down to. This conversation is ended!
Have a nice day! <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">

"PI for salt water hunting and diving". Bob you seem confused, he did not ask for beach detector and I was reponding to him in reading this forum, which of course I have the same right to answer as you, as to features of models. The apparent problem is you did not have the necessary product knowledge concerning the Aquasearch, I tried to let you off the hook, but you want to BS your way out of it, sorry. Don

If you can do as I did, and keep an eye out on the sale forums and Ebay, you might be able to find a used Aquastar. I got one, and it is for beach or underwater hunting. It has 2 voltage levels which will knock depth off just a bit if you don't need depth as much as length of time hunting in water or on beach. It is sensitive to small gold, well built and performs. I am happy with mine. I have had a Headhunter PI and I would say they are a good machine also, but not as solid a performer as the Aquastar. Of course, there is a large price difference also. Good huntin, John
