went hunting to day after work at my neibghers house again. i had the most iffy signal i would move the coil 2 inches left or right and forward or backwards and lose the signal, it was late so i dug it any way and out came this nice 1867 ih . this like the 4 th time i have had these really iffy signals you can only here from one small angle and have turned up stuff.. i guess you really have to read between the lines .. i got my x 1 probe last nite from the guvner and man is it nice , now i know why alot of people use them ..! love the neibghers house not alot of good stuff but its close to home for a quick detector fix . and every once in a while she gives something up .. so far 1843 large cent . 1875 seated dime . 1865 ih and tonite 1867 ih.. i think ill keep looking HH don

Nice find, Had the same thing happen to me today at a local school playground wasnt gonna dig it but out came a 1917D Merc. guess Ill dig em all.Happy hunting
Swing it slow and keep it Low!

Nice man, so far I haven't found anything from the 1800s in St. Louis!
I bet your problem with the "iffy signal" is the screwcaps discrimination. If you are discriminating screwcaps, the IH pennies will only come up at a certain angle and arent very repeatable.

I was going to say, run IM -16 and dig every thing. Clean out all the junk, give it a rest and go back for more. If I had a yard like that, that's what I would do.

thats right sweep slow on deep mode not like an xlt slow is key
