Well, I am now a happy home-owner! Last Wednesday, I purchased a small home not to far from where my M.I.L. lives.
I wasn't able to sign the papers until late in the afternoon on Wednesday, so I was packing stuff most of the day. We rented a 17' truck to move everything, but at the time, I didn't have any help in moving heavy furniture. It wasn't until right after we signed that one of Laurie's friends called us and said he could help. We went and picked him up, then headed over to the house to walk through it and double-check everything.
They did leave a few things, but I can use just about everything they left. Heck, there was even a crib up in the attic, still wrapped in plastic, with all the hardware! We need a new crib, for our daughter. That'll save a little bit of money!
The weather sure was funny that day. Snow on the ground, temps in the 50's, with high humidity. Can we all say, "Pea Soup Fog"? In fact, there was a 100-car pile-up in a city not that far from me.
We managed to get about 90% of our stuff over in three trips, including all furniture, and even got the kids bedded down for the night before our last run. We didn't finish until 3 am! As of today, everything is out of our apartment.
Anyway, here's some pics. This first image is the front.

Here's the back of the house. The garage is on the right. The addition on the left is the master bedroom, a small office/nursery, and a bathroom. The "original" parts of the house are sitting on a finished basement. It's bigger than it looks!

Here is the little shed out in the corner of the backyard. I have no earthly idea what I'm going to store in there, as the lawn mower (when I buy one!) is probably going into the garage. I did find two sifter boxes in the shed on our walk-through. I'll put those to got use!

Here's the one view of the kitchen. It needs some new counters/cabinets, etc., as well as an automatic dishwasher. I'm going to have to get used to doing dishes by hand for awhile <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="
