Im being Haunted

So about a week ago I went to an old early 1900s farmhouse to do some detecting. Didn't find much as the last owners had the house raised to add a basement. The dirt work guys all but destroyed the property. Anyway trying to find untouched dirt, I moved to the west side of house and found an old clothesline. I picked up some clad there and then I got a STRONG signal under the west line in the dead center of the poles that did not overload the ETP. I began to dig with trowel and at six inches hit a big limestone rock out of place. Dug it up and there was another right under it as though they were stacked. Signal still strong but I decided big iron wasn't worth it so I covered it up and left.

I am now being haunted by the though that I may have found my cache. and didn't follow through.

Farmhouse is a considerable distance away, but I will return soon to figure out the mystery. Even if its iron, I will get some piece of mind.

Yeah...those signals we walk away from can haunt a guy...now we all will be wondering! report back!

Well I would have done the same thing.Sometimes you dont want to dig a deep hole. But I'm guessing you will go back and dig it.Good luck.HH

A signal directly under two stacked stones, in between two cloths line post????
I would have had to have found the cause of the signal, it was very common practice for people of those days to bury their money.

I wouldn't even go to bed tonight, I would just go back and dig it up, you can sleep when you get back in the morning. If you find a BUNCH of Gold DON"T advertise it, just tell us that what was under those stones was worth going back after and will know what happened.

Haha , yep it definantly makes ya wonder, who knows it could have been !

As the old saying goes 'If in doubt dig it out' it of course could be nothing, that specific location could be a reminder of 'X' marks the spot of gold that was hidden, also it could be the last resting place of the family pet as grim as it may seem but it also be a well top thats been capped.

Not sure if you have the opportunity to go back and have another go then i would be back at that location very quickly, other wise it will haunt you for ever

I once in an old hacienda had a signal like a meter away from the haciendas foundation and it was something big. I ended up, making almost a square meter hole and found a slab rock too and under it was the signal still strong. So i was hooked all the way, after removing the rock i found an iron shovel upside down. After removing it, it was the lid of a clay jar, more excitement, so instead of trying not to break the jar, i ended up breaking it. There were ashes in it, like bones burned up. I told the owner of the hacienda about it, and told me that it was gold but turn into ashes because of my greed. I thought to myself, gold is gold, those are legends. I should have been carefull at least with jar. Other people told me that there were indians in there back then. Who knows, this is the interesting part of metal detecting. If i were you, i would have already gone and investigate. My uncle found once a huge copper jar with a complete chinese dishware intact once in a similar situation from the 1800's in Mexico.

I am pretty certain I have it worked out to go this weekend
