If this is for real then all I have to say is WOW!!!!! I'm sure there are some skeptics out there that may find it hard to believe that you found all that stuff in about two months, but under the right circumstances I suppose anything is possible.

Eddie

You are new at this detecting hobby correct? I see you said that you got $315.80 in silver clad. I think you probably meant just clad as silver is not considered clad. I was going to ask after seeing that strong box full of coins if you have found any silver coins dated 1964 and older? Just curious as I'm sure other guys on this forum might be as well.

Eddie

I think it's about time you acknowledged some of our replies and especially some who might be a little skeptical that you indeed found all that stuff as you claim you did. I'm not saying that you didn't find it and you must have spent a couple of months just cleaning it all right?

Eddie

Nice finds, I have seen this a few times on here were some one finds a hot spot never detected before. BUT it is always coins. keep up the good work. Harry

Its a nice haul. But does it makes sense he posts in in the extera forum too.

Hey guys, there several detectors out there. grid it and dig it.
dig everything. They discrim and use a scoop . Get a frikin shovel and put some muscle into it. You only get out what you put in to it.
My 14" excellerator coils goes deep as is 90% of my finds.

My wife is charge of cleaning. I have tied my record two day with 6 rings in one day, three days I found 5 rings in one day - you do the math - Find a lake where they water ski, wake board, and get drunk and then go boating. Wait 36 years and then tell them to drain the lake. Tell me what you'll find. ive got 400 lbs of fishing weights. 100 pair of sunglasses, keys, boat anchors, props,
I only list the stuff you guys might be interested in. You only get out of it what you put into it. I dig everything. Check my posts. Ive now pulled 33 watches from a 300 yard section of one side of the lake.

Yea, seems it would take more than a month to clean all that stuff! Hey by the way the guys across the steet from the carnival lot on Van dyke south of M59 want to know if your that great looking blond who detects during the week 2 or three times? You make us want to get detectors!!!

In spring of 1999 a friend on mine approached me about detecting a water park that had been closed down and the lakes drained.
This place had been open to the public for over 30 years and had NEVER seen a metal detector inside the fenced 25 acre park.
I asked some specific questions before agreeing to hunt it like ...
Who owns it and what percentage we would get in return and could we get the agreement in writing ?
We met the new owner who was eager to get this done ASAP but managed to agree on what and how everything was to be divided.
We were all given metal lockers (like you see in a dressing room) and we supplied our own combination locks.
The owner also supplied 1 gallon plastic buckets that we wrote our names on and at the end of the day each bucket was put into our lockers until full.
We had separate buckets for gold and silver jewelry and another for coins.
This was quite an undertaking, it took 2 months of hard work, at 5 day's a week, 6-8 hours a day, just for the swimming areas alone with 4 guys swinging detectors.
And it was a hush, hush ordeal too, the guy kept the gates locked at all times when we were hunting and didn't want it discussed publicly either!
We even built large sifters and went through several tons of bottom sand before we felt we had gotten the majority of it all.
It was a LOT of work but well WORTH it :)
When everything was tallied up there was something like 30,000 pieces of jewelry taken from the place. Most was of low to average value but there was some very NICE pieces found too.
The owner got an even 1/2 of the take and the remaining half was divided among 3 others including myself as best as we could divide it and make everyone feel they were treated fairly.
It was literally divided up by Kt. denominations and weight including anything with a precious stone, this took another week by itself!
It was a bit overwhelming actually to see it all in one place.
And YES, the owner was taught how to use a detector and worked his butt off just like the rest of us did.
So, you see, things like this do happen on occasions, and when they do, you have to jump at the opportunity.
Did we dig our share of trash, absolutely, was it worth, hell YES and I would do it again in a heart beat if given the chance.

Mike
