I'm new....Garrett GTI 1500 & wet/salt water ?

I'm very new to this but would like to get some feed back from other GTI 1500 users about how they feel about salt water surf hunting with this machine. It has a saline elimination mode but wonder about it's limitations?
 
It will do fair with lowered sensitivity but like most VLF machines with automatic ground balance it has aproblem with salt. If you hunt without crossing back and forth from wet salt sand to dry salt sand or just hunt the beach you will do okay.
