Im thinking about getting the wife a fisher f19. What is your guys input?
Last year she used the f5 and loved it. Only problem is she is
Leagally blind and with the f5, she kept bumping the knobs
and then id have to set it up again for her.

I think she would be able to use the F-19 well. It's very easy and intuitive to setup and run. Camt say there's anything I don't like about this machine! The only thing is you may be fighting over who's going to swing it if you try it after using the Tejon!

I can say this about F19. In bad ground it gets the F75 any series model butt. F19 will ID nonferrrous as nonferrous, F75 will ID nonferrous as iron. I estimate with 3 bars on the FE meter the 2 detectors will have about the same performance. Four or more bars in iron meter, F75 series using disc rendered useless.

If she liked the F5 I think she'll like the F19 better just for how smooth it runs. That would be my guess.

I am not necessarily in the market for one right now, because my F5 has been in the closet since we moved back to Louisiana, The F19 seems to me to be a natural choice to replace, upgrade or supplement the threaded connection F5, especially if you already own a few different coils and want a higher frequency unit.

Looking through dealer ads, coils listed for the F5 now include the F19. So you have a choice without having to invest in a whole bunch of new coils, unless you have chronic GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome).

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Greek units as well. No matter what hobby you choose, music, hunting, fishing, golf, etc.; GAS is common.. I don't play golf.

I just retired and moved 5 months ago. I thought I would have time to get back involved in this one. I have the time now, just need to find some places to go. And there are plenty around here, but I need to get to know some people. That's my only regret about not moving back to the New Orleans area. Plenty of historic places down there, and family property, but it's 4 hours away.

Maybe tis year, now that moving issues are almost done.

I didn't think the Greek coils would work on the 19. I have a 5" that came with my Omega and the 11" biaxial that came on my Eurotek Pro and just bought an 8" concentric. Will have to test all three machines with various coils. I like the stock elliptical on the Omega the best. GAS at its best!
