I'm thinking of putting a small display of finds together for a landowner....

that has allowed me to hunt his land for several years. I was hoping people here might post a pic or two of any kind of display you have given as a thank you. I just wanted a few ideas before I put something together.
Thanks for any and all help

gave them some silvers,IH's, Musket balls, arrow heads, buttons all kinds of small odds and ends and they always loved it.
Funny thing is they didnt care what was in the field but loved the history I found on their property
So needless to say I kept the Mass. Oak Tree Shilling I found there ;)

I also helped them with firewood and other odds and ends that took me no time at all
They always told me to dig all I wanted anytime

I made four of these plaques; three for land owners and one for me. The skirmish site is outlined on a period map, with a paragraph stating the facts of the battle. At the bottom I routed out a place for a Gardner bullet from the site. The three landowners were very appreciative to have something from the battle, all they ever asked was to be able to see what I found, they were curious and never asked for anything. I still hunt the site from time to time, it's a good idea to let the landowner know how much you appreciate being given access to their property. Good luck with this project.

This one is made out of oak, others were made out of walnut.

Shadow boxes are a good way to display finds, however you'll be hard pressed to find one for under $15-$20. You may want to Google search around for Riker Mounts display cases. These are black chipboard boxes with a glass top, and a white fiber fill. They are the same containers that museums use to display bugs and other artifacts. Depending on the quantity you buy, you can get them fairly cheap. The boxes are heavy, so a lot of times the shipping costs are more than the cost of the box. I ended up buying 3 different sizes, one case of each. The cost came down considerably. Obviously I don't need 3 cases, so I'll be bringing them to my next club meeting and seeing if any members want some. I'm passing almost all the savings on to them, just keeping a little for myself to earn a couple "free" boxes.

All finds from his property. I've had great success and lots of fun there.
