Over my head but guys like Eric, Reg, Chris, Ian and other other names can not recall now, will dissect this study and use the results to aid us in the Hunt for AU. Thanks joebody.

Thanks for the information. It is always worth keeping a eye on what is happening in other applications of detectors, to see if it can be applied to treasure hunting and gold prospecting. The system described uses and adapts geophysical equipment that is good for detecting larger objects that are deeply buried, but is no good for small items. The smallest test piece they used was a 20mm round. However, the methods used for signal analysis are interesting and could no doubt be applied to detectors with higher sensitivities.
