Impressed with AT Gold...

First time out with AT Gold. Very pleased with ability to 'sniff-out' coins from area littered with foil & bottle caps. Iron Audio is dead reliable, & the 'Tone-roll' is unmistakable. Even picked 1/4 of a penny (mower casualty) out of heavy trash spot.
Glad I read the manual 3 times... everything works as promised.
ps.. I am a little puzzled on the 'depth gauge' reading about 4" too deep. ?

The depth gauge is most accurate when you are pinpointing and on coin sized targets.

Remember to keep the coil as close to the ground as possible when checking depth and Using the pinpoint mode If you are holding the coil two inches say above the ground then yes the depth will be off

I never use the pinpoint button I always use the front tip of the coil and then I usually cut a 3-4" plug and use my pro pointer from there to locate the target. The reason I do this is because I hunt very trashy and iron infested spots and almost always I have multiple targets under my coil at all times.

Also if your looking at the depth right before it goes off the end of the coil then I think it is adding the extra few inches to the center of the coil.
