In Holland most etrac users buying a XP DEUS?

vatos

New member
Hi,

Strange thing:

I am from holland and still have my White DFX.
Three months ago i was gathering information to buy a new detector.
At first many people recommended the Etrac : only negatives points : heavy and slow in recovery speed i was told.
Positive : easy in use and a depth killer.

On this moment after the XP deus had some updates and a new bigger coil, some of the people who had given me advise now advising the XP DEUS....
Not all , but a lot, if a talk to the detector seller they also advice me the XP DEUS ; always telling that the Etrac is also a top detector.
Only the Xp Deus is very light in weight and a amazing recovery speed.

I hope you people can give me some advise or tca talk me into a Etrac.
Have some of you used both the Etrac and the Xp Deus?

Kind regards
Arend

Hi Arend

I dont know the Deus XP but it is a very interesting, futuristic looking machine
maybe someone more knowledgeable here can help you out
good luck

It is definitly an interesting machine. I've never ran one or have even seen one. Gaz has some video of a XP Deus user. I have no doubt it is probably a real good machine. I think it is more expensive than the E-Trac and I wonder if it handles the iron like the E-Trac does.

NebTrac

I've done some research since seeing this post earlier and all I can think is... I hope they are keeping their Etrac and not selling it to finance the purchase of one of those...

actually, wait.......yeah EVERYONE (except me) get one! Then show me all the fantastic places you've cleaned out with it :crylol:

i run at the side of a deus with my detector buddy yes it is lighter but to me i can swing the etrac for six hours with big coil so that is not a deciding factor ok the deus does not have a depth meter which personally i like for say it shows just below surface i will locate with pro pointer not dig a large hole recover and move on which to me seems much quicker than not knowing the other negative point for me is that all the works are in the coil so does not like stubble fields or rocky places this is just my take on the deus the etrac has such an amazing choice of programs you just can program it to search in any situation or leave it on your standard programe a larger new coil is coming out for the deus and in england i think i am right in saying is about

etrac like explorer just different mashines compare with deus. for best results you need both, cheaper version is explorer and xp goldmax, etrac and explorer for deep and bigger size targets, Deus -goldmax for small. I am from europe too and bought for spring goldmax for small items in iron. with etrac you can hunt in iron too with some success but its much more labor intensive compare with Deus-Goldmax. good luck Stasys

Thanks for the answers so far.
As far as the price the xp deus (incl. small coil) and the Etrac cost the same in holland : 1475 euro.

-Interesting (negative) point for the Deus indeed not going out with bad weather, cause it rains a lot in Holland.
-350 euro for the big coil / is expensive
-It does not handle the iron like the Etrac does.
-Less information is known so far or available

These are some negative points.
I talked to a seller today who will get his XPDeus this week, he also has an Etrac.
He is going to do some tests side by side, that could be interesting.

Until now i must say the Etrac is still my choice.
But info is always welcome

You not right Vatos. Deus coil is waterproof you can detect under water but need some wire work like antenna. And forget about bigger coils usually they are not better like original smaller. I would say if you dont have experience buy etrac, but after one or two seasons you will need another detector for small in iron in Europe.

I cant contribute to discussion about the xp deus comparisons because I'm not familiar with it
But I did go from the DFX to the E Trac and I could not be happier
