Dad (Poppy) is Heaven Bound
Posted 6 hours ago
This morning a little after 9am dad passed away. He went very peacefully. Mom is doing good under the circumstances.
Our family would like to thank everyone for all of their love, support and prayers.

For My Grandfather
When the last hour came upon you,
so many months ago,
you looked it in the face and said,
"I am not ready to go."
You lost your silver hair to chemo
and your platelets to the plague,
but most of all the thing you lost
was happiness in your days.
We watched your laugh lines disappear,
your face grew slack and taut.
You seemed to grow ten years older
for each day you fought.
And now that the end is finally here,
though you fought valiantly,
we cry tears of deepset sorrow
and wallow in memories.
But Poppy, though you leave this world
of sunshine, water, and earth,
you have been granted a great reward,
the gift of heaven's rebirth.
And I know that when you reach the gates
of your final resting place,
you'll hear the voices of those before you,
and see many a familiar face.
Jesus will welcome you into His arms
and show you your new home,
where you'll always be happy and healthy,
and never, ever alone.
And while here on earth we cry for you
as you climb the golden stair,
don't worry, Poppy, we're catching up,
and one day, we'll all be there.
