Indian tool or not?

Found this in a field near Richmond years ago always wondered if it is a tool . Hope someone can help. It’s 4 1/2 “long 4” wide at top 3/4” thick .

Found this in a field near Richmond years ago always wondered if it is a tool . Hope someone can help. It’s 4 1/2 “long 4” wide at top 3/4” thick .

Pretty sure it's some kind of tool.
Maybe a hand digging tool or point for tilling soil.
A well used tool will actually have finger grooves worked into the stone where it was held.
Beautiful find.

Almost looks like the start of an arrowhead……

Almost looks like the start of an arrowhead……

Could have also been a hammer head.
Though I don't see the tie notch.
Yet they were not always used.

It's definitely not a product of nature, it's hand made for a special job, not sure what that job was?
