Injun, Merc and a plethora of wheats

Got out for a few more hours today. Decided to hit the park again where I found my trio of mercs. This is a popular park that dates back to the 1920's and has been hunted by everyone in town with a metal detector many times.

I just happened to find a nice productive area:detecting: In an area smaller the the size of a tennis court if not smaller I popped out all the coins. The first 10 signals i dug were all wheat cents and the 11th signal was the Merc. My total was 20 wheat cents:yikes: the merc and 1 injun. Did I mention this park is considered hunted out???? Thanks:minelab:

I was especially happy to find the Injun since I have not found one in a while and my goal this week was to find one. Of course I did not expect to find one here since the park is from the 20's although Ashdigger pulled one out of here on Tuesday. I thought his was a lucky fluke, but I guess I got lucky too :)

We will see what tomorrow holds, driving through St. Louis tomorrow and have just enough time to stop at Forest Park for about 3 hours. Maybe another injun or two awaits me.

Great hunt Bob more for your collection. If you are like me, my wife says i collect... collect... and collect. Her question is when do we sell... sell....sell. Who says they dont appreciate our hobby? Looks like the start to a good year for all of us.

You have to remember even though the park was started in the 20's, there was still Barber, Injuns, and V-Nickels still in circulation so there should be a few others at this park. People I am sure were saving the Injuns since they were the first to get replaced but the Barber was still around since 1916 so I would think that there would be more Silver of this type than Indian Heads but you never know. Just food for thought when you return back to this park. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

That's right Dew. I have never sold a coin I have found because I like them too much:bouncy: I have sold some of the rings I found while still in college and needed the money badly enough. Gotta do what you have to:shrug:

And yes, it has been a great start of the year for us and many here. 2009 is going to be a great year for the Findmall Explorer's

Very good point James. you are 100% correct.

Now, I gotta go find the V nickels :detecting:

Way to go Cuz! Funny how things work out. We were just talking the other day about how long it's been since you dug an injun. Keep it up!

Nice Bob!!!!! Keep it up man!!!!
