Input on coil

RE a DFX would you suggest keeping it vs. selling and getting a less expensive unit and just getting a smaller coil and if so, what coil? There are so many sizes to choose. Lots of gold in NC and will be nugget hunting.

Without going to a dedicated nugget hunter or PI machine, the MXT, MXT Pro and V series of detectors are the nugget hunters choices. The MXT series ground tracking system is almost identical to the GMT and for a serious nugget hunter, coin hunter and relic machine, it is hard to beat the MXT or MXT Pro. If one opts for the Pro, I would suggest getting the 6X10 as well for nugget hunting and general purpose. The Super 12 is just too large of a coil for general purpose detecting IMHO.

If you are looking for a serious challenge like a fully programmable, you might want to consider one of the best all around detectors on the market and that would be either the V3i or VX3. Serious depth for the silver and copper yet very sensitive to small gold with the three frequency system.
