Input on selecting a detector?

Hello everyone. I have been metal detecting for about 12 years now and have loved it since day one. I have always detected on land for old coins and such and have been pretty lucky. I would like to get into beach detecting but I'm not sure what kind of detector to go for. What are the best detectors for the beach? How about the best for land? Any input is greatly appreciated. I would consider myself an experienced detectorist and a very avid one. Happy hunting!!

I've been detecting since the early 80s.........for beach hunting I use my Minelab SE Pro and also the Minelab Excaliber 1000 when I decide to wade out in the water.. They do very well for me........

When considering a detector for salt water beachs you would want one that can handle the salt water/wet sand conditions.. I can't tell you what to buy, maybe you could pose the same question on the beach hunting forum on this web site....There are a lot of variations when it comes to price and quality...
