Input on the New Sovereign GT, Anyone?

I have a Sov Elite and really like it, but, I am thinking about buying a GT. Can anyone, who has used both, talk me into or out replacing my Elite with the GT? Actually my Elite would become my backup detector. Post here or send me an email, thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,
I heard from one of the West Coasters the GT does detect smaller stuff. In fact, it detected a small gold chain the Tesoro's could and the Regular Sovereign can't.
That about all I've heard,

Thanks Paul, I had heard a similar report (probably from the same guy). I think I have new car fever! I have already sold two of my Sov Xs models and I am selling one of my Elites on ebay right now. I have an itchy trigger finger, I don't know if I can last another week. I see where you can get an extended warranty on it too, for a total of 4 years. I wonder if I can live with the same detector for 4 years? Nice selling point though.
Bill

I don't know.....it's very hard for some of us to go 4 years with one detector. I know that I would have a very hard time doing that!!!! I get that same fever when new detectors come out

I thought we were all being pretty gentlemanly about it, Da*** it, about to give David a call and remind him about what he said...LOL. Believe me, its tough being up here in the tall uncut with new detectors about, and no way to get my hands on them... .... Going to fly out to Tn the end of the month to visit the Grandkids, might have to make a quick run over to Madison and see for myself. I thought for sure Rick would have a weedburner out in one of his old parks thawing ground ...Geo

Hello Beachcomber,
I heard the GT detected a small gold chain with both disc and all-metal mode while the regular Sov couldn't touch it.

Hi Paul,
That is good news. I practically never hunt in All-Metal so my main concern is what it is capable of when it comes to gold when in the Discriminate Mode.
Thanks

I will be getting one in the very near future, maybe by tomorrow. I am working on a great deal right now.
Hopefully, I will have it and put it thru it's paces on the beach at Del Mar on 4/2 with my hunting partner, Ira. He'll be using his Elite and we do some comparisons. I just hope the sand keeps moving off the beach.

We gonna get together when I come out there again in May to June?
Sorry we didn't get in a hunt or two last time.

So far I see the difference is sens. to smaller objects. Feels like I'm using a pulse machine. It'd nice to have the silent search feature. All metal mode is pretty stable as well.
