Interesting experience with my F5

Yesterday my neighbor let me hunt around his house. Man I have never been able to run my F5 so hot before. In his back yard I got my my gain up to the mid 90's, Threshold up to +5 with little chatter, Discrim set at 20.
I think I found a kids buried treasure! nothing of great value but I got around 70 pennies 5 quarters 6 dimes and 3 nickles all within about two feet. They only averaged around the 1980's but I thought it was so cool!!!
About my settings makes me wonder, he lives right next store to me and in my yard I can only get my gain up to around 55 to 65 and thresh to 0. I wonder if sometime in the past someone had the back yard dug up and had new top soil dumped in. I did dig up alot of other things like tabs and nails that that were half gone.
The most interesting find that I cant identify is, at first what I thought was a button thats just about an 1/8" larger than a quarter cause it is cupped but it is so far gone that there is nothing left to see on the face BUT it has the ridges around the edge like a quarter or a dime has. I took a file to a small part that was damaged and it looks like it is copper. I winder what this is?

I have an Omega 8000 and I can run it in my house at up to 70 and in the back yard at almost max. Before this I had a T2 and couldn't run it in my house at all, or even in my back yard. There is clearly emi around the house. My yard has definitely had new topsoil added. (But so has another place I hunt but I can hunt it at absolute max settings.) I think the Omega 8000 has had some emi improvements over the F5 judging by comments I've read.

I wonder if the newer F5's are the same? (as some of the newer T2's are much more stable.)

It seems like the F5/Omega 8000 is becoming the preferred coin machine (at least on the Teknetics forum) compared to the F75/T2 (ltd. too). I actually sold my T2 for my Omega 8000 and after only one weekend of use due to finding more coins in back to back days than I had in the same spot in any day over months. Guess it's partly that lower frequency.
I can't wait till Fisher/Teknetics brings out a F75ltd/T2ltd. coin machine. In other words, that extra 1" or 2" of depth and more features.

Congrats on your coin hoard!

I've found the F5 to be a nickel magnet over the last 9 days that I've had it. I've found close on 50 nickels. I'd be lucky to find 4 over a 3 week period with the old F4 I have ! I've also found 2 gold rings and 5 silver jewelry items with the F5 in that time !
