Interesting find yesterday.

So my truck was acting up and I decided to drive the wife's car. There is an intermittent issue with the seat electronics in hers and sometimes it will not move back,. and yesterday was one of 'em. Was actually airing up the bicycle to ride it down to the park when the wife offered to drop me off and then pick me up. OK, I took her up on the offer. (I was getting stir crazy with the truck out of commission.)

This is a relatively new park across from the high school. Don't recall much being there but a field before the sports park was developed; mostly just soccer fields. I've learned here to use the small coil, set the sensitivity to low, and heavy disc. I usually pull out a few dimes, quarters, and pennies. A few weeks ago pulled out a ring; not a really good one but still a ring, an saw a hoop earring just laying on the ground. So swinging the ATP around (oddly no sports on the long weekend) and hit another target. Don't remember the numbers or sound; I should have been excited when I pulled it up but this place was so new, I knew there were no old large dollar coins unless one of the kids got into the coin collection. Just thought it was a Chucky Cheese or some other type place. Strange thing, it was really heavy like a dollar coin and even had ridges on the edge. Not a typical beach venue or Dave and Busters token. Turns out to be Excaliber Hotel and Casino circa 1990. Not in particularly good condition but still an interesting find and sure beats a bottle cap or pull tab...

... finding anything not trash is fun, even then if it's antique trash, evokes a higher level of interest and curiosity. :)
