At 2:00 this afternoon I rounded up my 2 neighbors, our detectors and headed to the county fairgrounds in the next county.Stop at the fair grounds office, got permission to"metal detect".Go out where they had set up the midway.Lots of clad, dimes and quarters.I hit the first silver coin a 1960 Rosie. We've been detecting for about 30 minutes. At least 6 people drove by real slow looking at us,inside the fairgrounds. The lady from the fair office comes out and asks us to leave. She said if she'd of known we were going to"dig holes" she wouldn't have given us permission.I found this strange as when I asked her if we could detect she aked me if I was the guy that came there last year and found "all those coins".I apologized and we left.We stopped and got permission to hunt 2 old houses in a small ghost town outside of town.I found a token right off the front steps of one of the houses. It's a Packard Automobile token announcing their 50th Anniversary of making cars. It's dated 1949.It's in great shape. We found a few wheaties a 1956 quarter and a 1955 dime and quit.I kept my silver streak alive with 2 Rosies. The token is one of the best tokens I've found.I tried to find one on the Internet but haven't found one yet.I would love to get back into the fairgrounds as it's loaded. We found 3 1955-d Wheaties none were double die though
