Interesting little find from 1926

I found this at an old homestead. It may be hard to read so........THE SESQUI-CENTENNIAL PHILA. 1776 TO 1926 150 YEARS OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE. This looks like one of those deals where you insert a penny and crank it through the press to make a token but I'm not sure if they were around back then. I looked around on the web but couldn't find another one. anyone know?

This is an elongated penny that was a souvenir from the Sesqui-Centennial Exposition held in Philadelphia from June 1 to Dec. 1, 1926 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It is listed in the 1981 book "Yesterday's Elongates" by Martin & Dow. They give a rarity of 3 (7 is the highest rarity). There are a couple of other varieties including ones with the profile of an Indian, three links with FLT and the Knights of Columbus logo instead of the eagle that yours has. You might find more info on the exposition itself on the Internet. Neat find and HH!

Thanks for the info TokenDigger, I did read some info on the expo. Another trinket for the "not a coin but not exactly junk" box.
