Interesting 'Questionaire' from the State Police (???)

Pete in MI

New member
Among all the 'crazy' things going on last night the boss approached me and told me to fill out this 'Questionaire from the State Police and get it back to me before you go home tonight'.

I think I mentioned his office had been broken into, the State Police came to investigate and apparently money was taken. I only knew about it as I was called in to come 'secure his ioffice that had been broken into.'

So I get this questionaire with no markings whatsoever of being from the State Police and asking questions that are stranvge. First I read WE want to know...who is WE??? They are asking for DETAILED answers.

There were questions asking 'if you were investigating this, how would you do things?' My answer is simple "I am not investigating this...I am a maintenance man and my job is maintenance."

"What are the 5 causes of this happening?" Huh?

"Did you steal money from the cabinet?" No. (I didn't even know he had a cabinet...his office is way too messy.)

"Do you know who stole the money?: No

"Did you help steal the money? No

"What did you do when you came to work on 9/4/2008?" Had a long list of things I did as I did keep a record (notes and also the company complaint cards, event schedule, etc to work from)

Should we believe you are telling us the truth? Yes

If you said yes give us one reason to why we should believe you? I said :I'll give you 2 reasons: Truth and Honesty."

What would you say if later you were told you lied on this form? I would say nothing. After all I told the truth and if someone says I lied - it is a lie and not worthy of justification,

We you afraid to fill out this form? No

What emotions did you have when filling out this form? None. This form is just 'nother job to be completed'.

Being a former Police Officer, some things made me wonder about the form. I think our other Police Officers will know my thoughts. Some might think I should have a lawyer for such questioning. Some may feel I should have not filled anything out. Thing is I did no wrong. I have a Lawyer..Jesus..and He is with me. What have I to fear?

I hope they find whoever has done this crime but I can say it was not me.

I didn't even realize he had a side entrance....so much for my Police training in observation

I hope you kept a copy of it for your records. It might be wise to contact your local state police and ask them if they had requested you fill out the questionnaire. If it was not on an "official" state marked form, it was probably from your boss. I know of no police agency that gives out a form to fill out on a case like that. They usually like to have eye contact in an actual interview to assess a persons anxiety level.

I think Pete that you answered the questions very wisely and I don't believe it is from the Police Department but from your boss! I believe he is fishing and trying to find out just exactly what kind of person you are............sooo congrats on godly wisdom and let your light shine even brighter before him and show him the love of Jesus!

God Bless!
