The HD in our Mac took a dive and I just got my photo capabilities back up and running. I found this a few days ago, along with a couple indian heads. I thought for sure it was military but it is not. It's a saw medallion, the ornate side of a rivet that holds the two halves of the handle and the blade together. Circa 1860ish according to my research. Not what I was hoping it was but still a neat find. The composition is solid brass.
