Interesting shot shell find

I've found cartridge cases in the yard before, normally various .22 versions. This time something a bit different. An old shot shell base from what I've been able to find out must be around 1900 to 1905. Oddly enough it's never been fired. Over time the hull and contents have gone the way of rot and disbursement. But the brass base was sort of intact buried about 6 inches down in hard compacted sandy soil. Hmm wonder what the story was here. A hunter who dropped a shell in the yard while packing their vehicle, who knows.

10 gauge , that's big

If it could only talk

Cool find
