Welcome, and interesting finds. I was stationed outside of Stuttgart (Luwigsburg) from '83 - '87. Loved it. Wish I had a metal detector with me back then...
Enjoy the F2. I use mine as a back up, battery $$ on the beach, and a loaner for home owners whose property they let me hunt. It's found some nice Civil War relics.

Hi Tim! Those are some cool finds! Did you ever figure out what that head was that you found, I'm curious.

I, too, was stationed over in Germany back in the early 80's (82-85) just outside the city of Ansbach. The base was in Katterbach, an old German air base from what I gathered, but was used as a helipad when I was there, and we had a tank battalion across the street. Loved Germany and hope to go back some day to see the old stomping grounds!!!

Welcome to the forum and look forward to your upcoming posts, Tim!!!

Ahhh, the Big Red! That is the oldest infantry division in the U.S. Army; formed in 1917. I was part of the 1st Armored Division, 501st AB(C) [Aviation Battalion Combat] in Katterback. Yup, been to Nurnberg, or what we called Nuremberg. If you take 14 southwest out of Nurnberg, you'll go right through Katterbach!!!!!

Also, my son leaves tomorrow for Germany, he's doing some big running event over there and then heading to Oktoberfest, the world's biggest party!!!! I went to Oktoberfest in 1982, and I STILL remember most of it. :buds::beers:
