I just want to take minute to introduce myself. I am cmoe and a newbie, who will receive my Explorer II this Friday. I have been observing this site for a couple of weeks. Thanks to the concern, thoughtfulness, and the many insightful comments on this forum, I have decided to become a serious metal detectionist. All I can say is that my ability and knowledge does not match my enthusiasm.
Anyway, I think this is an awesome forum (group of people)and I look forward to reading your post and communicating with you all.

The explorer is a simple ready to go out of the box machine and it is a fully programmable customizable deep coin getting monster. Everyone here can help you get started...just ask

Welcome...I am newbie one month with Explorer. It took me a month to stabilize the machine and finally get a smile on my face. I have made every mistake one can possibly make with Explor II. So speaking from complete newbie ignorance...I am digging 10 inch targets with confidence...machine is stable and quiet. When you start going crazy and maybe you need a newbie who just graduated basic training...I am here....I SPEAK NEWBIE LANGUAGE! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
 
P.S. When I purchased Explorer II ..I was sure I was going to just fly with the machine..WRONG! Don't give up...it is like learning a new language...keep coming back at it again and again and get the right settings down first. Talk to you later...only newbies can console one another! <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
