They say Jan Feb in the spring is best... Do you think all the stuff is getting pulled out or uncovered? From this storm ..We are going two the outter banks on vacation in 21 days... Any help would be great... All my stuff i found at freshwater lakes..

Irene will make huntting a hole lot better.Storm wash away all the lite stuff and make Gold and coins easer to find.If you have a cut ,hunt from the bottom of the cut out about 6 feet.all metal mod. will help you get that real deep Gold. HH Ron Lord

As long as you get there before some beach restoration project where they dredge up a bunch of new sand onto the beach... but they probably wnt do that until early spring.

well here's my take on this, myrtle beach is all sanded in already and the storm didn't help any, went out today, only some clad and a bullet..yes a bullet..targets are far and few, right now there's 2 locals on the beach, a guy named Jim brewers and his buddy Phil, they tell me the beach is so sanded in badly and most of this wasn't from the storm, plenty of people on the beach today, but no bling, ill try again tonight and see....
wish me luck

Same here I live in Garden City, near myrtle beach. I went out the morning after the storm. I was the first MD'er out there that I know of. Ran into 4 others out there. Targets were few. Less than a dollar in clad and a pair of sun glasses. It was my first hunt after a hurricane. I was very excited but was very disappointed. O well better luck next time.

It will take a couple of GOOD storms to unearth the good stuff. The beaches in most areas have has be piling up for two summers and two winters and no real significant storms during those times but when this happens you will see a big difference in finds but it will take time. Yes there will be the occonial beach that gets a good scraping and that's when doing your homework is important by getting out and physically walking those beaches. Good luck guys
