iron mask settings for deep silver

i have read the andy sabisch book and tried some of the settings that bryce and others use for deep silver and other coins. just wanted to know what some of you explorer2 experts set your iron mask at when hunting deep coins. i know there are variables for different areas and different ground conditions and considering trashy or not. just curious if there is a certain number you use most of the time when going for the deepies. i have tried and use my explorer2 at -6 a lot and it works good but may try to open it up a bit and see what happens there. when i experiment with my detector in the garage old rusty nails start to break up at -13. thanks for any and all info guys and happy hutning.

You already know when you may need to adjust your IM. For me its more about the sensitivity and ensuring that cursor moves in smartscreen. If i open it up i can run a little hotter. I use the same setting Mike Moultary uses... 28 on the SE. The IM setting seems to matter less for those items closer to the half way mark on the depth scale... the machine knows what its looking at. Setting the IM a little higher like Bryce does i think tends to reduce the outside noises like minerals, EMI and falsing more.
