Is a Mars F5 coil compatible with the G2+?

Yes.
If you ask Mars, they will tell you it's fully compatible but that their coils marked G2 are tweaked for optimal performance with the Fisher/Tek 19 kHz machines (as per their email to me). They won't give any details as to what optimal performance actually means. I have a Tiger coil with F5 marked on it and it works very well with my F19. I've never tried one marked G2 and a dealer told me there was no difference.
If I bought another Mars coil for my F19 I'd make sure that the coil is marked G2 just to be sure.
