Is air testing accurate for determining depth?

Bajanick

Did some tests today with different coins on the ground and with many different adjustments.
Do buried coins show up deeper that doing air tests? I only got about 8" doing air testing and am wondering when actually locating buried objects if I can get deeper than 8"? I am using the 5.3.

I think airtest tend to run deeper because there is no mineralized ground. I noticed a 2 -3 inch diffrence between air testing a dime and testing a dime in a garden.
