is f75 ltd going to be better than my f70

I have f70 and love the performance. I only wish it had a backlight and really miss having a trigger for the pinpoint. Will f75 ltd give A marked performance increase for the price difference. I love the earganomics of my f70. Is f75 as good there. Thanks. Any comments will be greatly appreciated..... jeremi in central Alabama. Also I'm looking for detecting partner for my area.

That is a a tough question to answer. Most say the f70 is a simplified F75..with just about the same depth in most places..

My self I think the configuration of the F75 and the Hand and meter assembly..also the programs, trigger switch and other settings is worth the difference.

I've had both, and my F70 NEVER went as dep as my F75 LTD in BP mode.

I've not had both, but in B P mode my LTD has a bit more depth then my regular F 75 did in D E mode. I think it also depends on the type of hunting you do. If mainly coin shooting, I probably wouldn't make the move up. If, however, you do a good bit of relic hunting, then there is a vast difference. When relic hunting, one is often hunting over tall grass and brush. This is where the LTD/SE really comes into its own when using the B P mode. Your coil can be 4 or 5" above the grass and brush and you sustain little or no depth loss. In fact, B P seems to perform better with a little air between the coil and the ground. I also feel in the B P mode the LTD is less hindered by emi. HH jim tn

I don't know that I've heard that before Jim. I tend to scrub the ground when hunting. When you say performs better, what aspect do you see, more depth, better seperation, or ?

Even though it's difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, it's always nice to try to learn a new trick

Hey Cal... I was swinging over 4" of snow last year, scrubbing along, and learned that some amount of air between coil (2-3") and ground seems to work better than scrubbing, I dont know why, but have been doing it ever since. Definitely better separation, way much quicker, great signal strength, as far as depth, I dont know, you F75 guys are looking for targets deeper than I, but I do get some finds in the 8" realm in wet chip totlots especially after theve been re-chipped, and its easy diggin, on wet beach sand often. In the dirt, not so much, but there I'm just clad stabbin anyway. If there happens to be an old silver in the top 6" of soil, no doubt I'd hear it. I think the general consensus is the F70 is wicked great for targets in the top half foot of soil, and maybe with proper conditions and set up, might get 8-10" on coins... F70 w/11"dd strength to me is quick brooming, and thats a different style and way of looking at soil covered per outing...it can be vertical soil covered with a hot machine looking deep, or horizontal soil covered real fast...both have their merits and places.

Brian, it is kind of hard to define. I mostly notice targets seem to have a crisper tone and seemingly more sensitive to small targets. I do a good bit of woods hunting and frequently in fields of pretty tall and thick grass/weeds and am able to hit targets with good depth while having to have the coil several inches off the ground. I don't think it is my imagination and am convinced there is something to the air gap "thing." HH jim tn
