is it normal?

On Sunday went for the first time to the beach to detect, i followed the instructions , you tube videos etc......

I did step by step what they said nothing happened , after 20 minutes of trying to make appear the umbrella icon i decided to reset my detector to factory mode then i automatic ground balanced it and then after it was ground balanced i pushed the GB botton for three seconds and finally it appeared , then i did exactly what the instructions said i pushed for 3 seconds the ground balance button again so the beach mode will take off nothing happened, finally after another 20 minutes i made a automatic ground balance and then i pushed again the ground balance button and the umbrella icon took off, my question is , is this how it works because on the instructions it only says push ground balance button for three seconds and the umbrella icon will appear , push for three seconds the ground balance botton and the umbrella icon will take off.


I only noticed after every time i ground balanced the detector, that's the only way i can make appear and disappear the umbrella icon.

My Xterra react in the same way.Just have to hold down the button until the umbrella goes on or off,usually it takes longer then 3 seconds.

Can't check mine right now as the batterries are out on a charger but I think I have to pressd GB, release, and then press and hold for a few seconds to change from normal to beach.

Me too ... same thing when switching to sizing. press pp release, press agin and hold for a few seconds.

DirtAngler you were right , i did that Press the GB button release and then press it again it worked Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
