Is Minelab an American company? ..........I think not!

because if they were an American manufacturer like Tesoro, Fisher, Whites, or Garrett they would have honored the contest myself and others won months ago!
Yes, almost a year ago I won a find of the month contest, and since than I have done what was requested of me (written account of the find and personal info.) three different times with not so much as an e-mail in return. (did get one from the webmaster) A few times this was brought up in the posts here and the most Minelab has ever replied was to make their usual sad excuse about having communication problems.
To date some did actually receive the prize (8" coil) but I know at least a few of us are left hung to dry. Since Minelab USA won't step up to the plate I have written the head office in Australia twice but haven't received a reply.
So what's a person to do huh? Minelab sure offers great service when it's your hard earned money they want. Yes, it is only a coil, but I won the thing, AND I WILL GET IT!
I'll apologize to the readers before hand because this may not be the last you hear of this. Just had to vent because there is only so much BS a person can stand. Maybe Minelab will blackball me once they start reading some of my posts, but at least the others might finally get their prizes. This is really something I shouldn't have to fight for, but I will.

I never got mine for May 2004 relic of the month either CC, I gave up long ago... nothing I really need anyway... did you fax them the release? I was never contacted by Minelab at all, gary emailed me a few times about it though

and more than once. I know Gary did pass on all of our info. which leaves me quite puzzled why this has not been taken care of.
I will not stop posting about this until its taken care of. If they ban me than fine.
PS There are at least 3 of us that still haven't received the coils.

Please send me the information again, including the date of your win. I will alert Kristie of this post so she can check against her list. I asked someone to email me back details after he said him and CC won and I've heard nothing back from this guy. CC unless he's not tell me he's CC has not gotten in touch with me recently unless he's not using that name in email.
Just send me what month you won for and I can go through the archives to find it.
Thanks... Guvner..

If there was another post directed to everyone than I missed it. Besides, all our e-mails are right here so I really have a hard time to believe much of an effort was made. I really am not blaming you Gary because I know you have wrote Minelab seveal times also to no avail, but it's about time this whole bad deal ended.
E-mail on the way.

not a big deal to me.... like I said I won a couple times and really dont need another coil

I have three stock coils and it's really all I use. The point is they had a contest and we won.
That's enough for me.

I'm still waiting for my June 04 prize. I've sent a number of e-mails but to no avail. In spite of things, I still feel that Minelab is a good company and they manufacture a superior product. It is unfortunate that they allow their reputation to be tainted by being lax in honoring these contests. One of the basic rules of advertising says that promotional gimmicks will backfire if the company fails to live up to the expectations that are set with the consumer.
Just my take,
Dave

first, minelab is the best detector money can buy as far as i'm concerned. i don't care where's it's made.
and, it's really great and generous of them to have a contest.
but, to tell someone they won something, and then not deliver it, is about as low as you can get.
i sure hope in future contests they do it differently. my suggestions would be:
1. let a u.s. minelab dealer handle giving the prizes out.
2. and maybe give away a minelab gift certificate, (white's does gift certificates), so some don't end up with 2 or 3 - 8" ML coils that they don't want.

if it was, the explorer would only go 6" deep. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
i hope you get your coil soon.

getting what is yours is better therapy. for some reason, i thought this issue was resolved. i guess i was wrong.

There just comes a point when enough is enough and I'm sick of e-mails and subtle posts. A company like Minelab sure wouldn't let loose ends go untied, and that's how I feel now that detecting is about to begin. I think you will agree all else was failing.

Chris Costain,
You are absolutley right. I have investigated this situation personally and you should have received your prize months ago. I will offer no excuses. All our employees here at Minelab USA are VERY dedicated folks who take great pride in providing the very best service to our customers. Chris, You have won many prizes from Minelab in the past and we hope you have enjoyed them over the years. We will be very happy to expedite the latest one to you... as well as investigate ANY and ALL possible winners who may not have received theirs. If, for ANY reason, you have any further concerns about our service, you can reach me personally here at Minelab USA ANYTIME, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm(Pacific Standard Time) Our phone number is conveniently located on our website (www.minelab.com)

Maybe the problem is too many middlemen. How about they give Guv a box of coils and appoint him prize coordinator! <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">
