Is the Excalibur 1000 worth the $

I have a chance to buy an Excalibur 1000 that has been used twice and is in excellent condition.
Never been in the water and never on the beach. The price is $500.00. Is this a fair price?
Thanks for the advice ahead of time.

I had that thought. I have read an enormous amount of things about this machine. I was blown away by the
price and quality. I am moving to the Florida's mideast coast around the 1st of the year and want a great machine.
What do u use wavecrazed? If u don't mind me asking.

Well gentleman, I took everyones' advice and went with my gut instinct and bought the Minelab Excalibur 1000.
Here are a few pics I just took. Drove 4 hours to get it and back today. I am stoked! What a deal I got.
Want to thank Jerry R from Gastonia, NC for the deal. He is a very nice gentleman and wasn't out to get rich.
Can't wait to get back to the beach. Also included are some pics (not real good) from my last outing.
One is of the nuggets, actually they most likely are aluminum. And 3 rings that were found at Daytona last season.
1 is a childs ring and the other 2 are .925. Oh yeah, can't forget scully. He came from Jacksonville, FL
Again thanks guys for the input and advice. Happy Hunting and success to everyone.
Rick

Pick up the Basic Ear Training CD by Tony Diana as well as The Excalbur book by Clive Clynick and you will really speedup your learning curve on the Excal. Kellyco sells them both

Actually I was telling a friend that I needed a copy of the CD.
Wasn't aware that there was a book too.
Thanks for the info.

Hi Rick,
Go to the last message on this thread, I listed the books on it. I learned something from all three of the Excal books and also a lot from the water hunting books.

I was most disappointed with my Minelab as the sounds puzzled me:confused:, then I got the ear training CD and then it made sense. I then bought Clive's 4 books along with a Nuttall scoop. I bought the Excal. for my visit to Mexico. I tracked my time hunting and I found a ring on average every 4 hours, 7 silver 5 gold and enough peso coins to pay for my water.:clapping:
I love my Excalibur, I have a total of 70 or so hours using it and am starting to really feel that this is "the MACHINE". I had to come home for Christmas (family) but am headed back in Jan for 2 months:detecting:.
