Is the Whites Dual Frequency PI Water worth buying??

Hi everyone I wanted to get some opinions about the new Whites water detector. I haven't heard too much about this machine yet but have gotten some good feedback about it. I wanted to get another machine but have 2 Whites PI's already, first of all is this machine worth getting? I do alot of diving and was wondering if this machine will find targets deep in soft sand. I live in Hawaii and the good stuff usually sink to the bottom very fast due to the high surf and constant movement of sand. I would love to hear some opinions and suggestions about this machine because my two other machine have found lots of gold already. Hope to hear from you guys! Aloha

...you want to dig a lot of GOLD! :super:

If you are hunting the surf its great. However, if you are a diver then I would recommend the PI Pro with a neutral boyancy 950 coil. Most of the divers have a problem with the 12" spider coil floating.

You can tame the 12" spider with clear plastic tubing. Fill the tubing full of sand and wire tie it to the coil. Might take a few tries to get it neutral or just slightly negative. Once you get it, it doesn't change...unless you go to fresh water. I also think the dual field has another adjustable PI control on it that's supposed to make it more adaptable to changing conditions. Jim

Hi,

The Dual Field refers to the dual coil design. I've used the Surf PI a lot in Hawaii and done well with it but never used the Surf Dual Field so can't comment. I'd have to say though that if your other two machines are finding lots of gold I'd tend myself to stick with what is working. Why fix something if it is not broken?
