That shows how good this hobby is.

I would bet a lot of people started before they got old.

I am 33. Started when I was 32. Wish I would have started earlier but kinda of glad I did not. I probably would have spent every hour metal detecting. It is very addicting. With a family and work and other interests I am not that guy who only can talk about and think about only one thing. Granted I think about going metal detecting every day but have other things that take priority. You might be able to learn from some of the older guys as they have more time to detect if they are retired. Good luck and happy hunting.
