The black ones being they were made later could have the high tones which mind does not. I saw a photo of a black Vaqs box and it had HT stamped above the model #.

Both styles of Vaqueros were available with standard or high tone.
Only difference is color and the coil type.
You could also buy each one with the different coils too.
