Is this a claw or talon or tooth. Found it in shell midden/Indian camp in river bank

Any ideas from claw or talon experts or teeth.

My guess...Bear claw. Too curved for tooth??? Too large for a talon??? Big cat...Mtn. Lion or Bear???

Yes sir. Could be don’t have bear’s or mountain lion’s in north tx at least in city. Dfw area. Found in river bank with Indian artifacts so possibly one from days of old. Thanks
You once did have them— all over Texas.

There was one man (can’t remember his name) way back in the day who traveled all over Texas and other SW states killing all the bears.Don’t know why, except maybe he made money off the pelts and liked eating bear meat.

There were also Jaguars in some of the SW states bordering Mexico in the early days. Your tooth could be a trade item as well.
