Is this right?

After using the Explorer for 12 or more years I'm thinking of trying a Deus. I'm not expecting Explorer depth. Haven't heard anyone claim it goes that deep. What I'm wanting to know is, does it go fairly deep? I have a G2 and I consider it lightning fast compared to other detectors. It's just not very deep. I can clean up an area with the G2 and then go back over it with the Explorer and get lots of deep coins it missed. Is the Deus just another G2? Is it just lightning fast but sacrificing considerable depth?
Can it dig minnie balls at 12-14 inches or more?
What about it?

Ive dug 3-ringers at 9-12" with the Deus...with low reactivity settings you can hit coin sized objects at this depth fairly easily in moderately mineralized soil

What the deus does is see through iron...so when hunting iron you don't need a lot of depth because of masking. But it can go I think deeper then the G2 if programed right using the right freq and combo of TX power sens and reactivity and audio responce...You can have a lot of relics hiding in iron because the iron is masking those targets. So it's not always about depth but if you are hunting clean ground that maybe you are better off with what you have

It does work but watch your Tx power and sens and freq

If you have the 9" coil your looking at 12 to 13. With the 11" your looking at 14 to 15 inches but I've actually dug a minie at 17" in Virginia on a hillside, Neal you know where I'm talking about buddy, you can come by and take one to try out anytime you'd like brother!

The settings to get great depth are not even close to what you want for great separation. The great thing about the Deus is it can be set up for both and all points in between and with a choice of 4 frequencies . Also with the updates the Deus just gets better and I believe that will continue with future updates  Once you get a handle on the tones and what they mean the machine will amaze you.

I have been a minelab guy for years.1st the explore se/Then E-Trac and I still have the 3030.Ive done very well with them. That said ive had the Deus for 3 or 4 weeks and Its amazing. Its several machines in one.I think the depth is better to be honest. And the seperation is amazing.I have the 11 inch coil.I had no trouble adjusting to the Deus, its alot of fun to learn.Being able to push one button and be in a different program/freq is very helpful. And with updates it just keeps getting better. And after you swing this thing its really hard to pick the others up lol. Good Luck with your choice. HH
