Is this Tag Heuer watch I found, by any chance, real??

It looks old, not in the best shape, but I have some small hope it's real. Any watch guys out there with some tips to determine if it's real?
 
I think the outside numbers can be checked against an online database, but ultimately the internals have to be examined to verify authenticity.
