Isaiah is getting stronger everyday! The doctor said this morning that his kidney, liver, and pancreas are all working very well and functioning very closely to the normal levels. He worked with Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech Therapy this morning and will work with each of them again this afternoon. PT works mainly with the large motor skills, focusing on his lower body, so this morning Isaiah did some leg and feet stretches and stood up with assistance. He also got to play with some balls, which he loved. OT works more with the fine motor skills so she helped him to brush his teeth (with REAL toothpaste, which he was excited about. No more peroxide sponges for teethbrushing) and he worked on putting a wood puzzle together. Speech therapy is working more with his swallowing and he was able to have a few spoonfuls of soda and a little bit of jello as a snack. She asked him if he wanted applesauce and he said "No, I'm not hungry." But when she offered the jello Isaiah got pretty excited and ate about 1/4 of the cup before he said he was full.
This afternoon Isaiah is hoping to be able to color some on his windows and door and he said that he would play a game of War (cards) before bed tonight. He also got some new books from the library cart and is pretty excited to read a Dr. Seuss book to Dad.
