IT FINALLY CAME!!!!!

For those of us on an extreme budget, this
little pinpointer is a great deal. I finally got mine from
www.Harborfrieght.com. Its $15.00 plus postage, comes with battery and
carrying case you can clip to your belt. It makes a high pitched squeal
when you locate your target in the hole.

Man I think for the money, and what its intended to do, It fantastic!!! Let us know how it works. Lets face it, we don't need pinpointers to metal detect, it just speeds the process along. I use a $40 tinytec pinpointer and I love it...

Now there are some pinpointers that are $100, $150, $200, +, & I'm sure they are nice. But shouldn't your machine be by far the most expensive piece of gear that you take while metal detecting? And your metal detector is what found the object, so why spend hundreds of dollars just to pinpoint your target that your detector found anyways???

I am really interested in hearing how it preforms. Because again, you don't need a pinpointer to detect, but it is sure nice to have one...:detecting:

Believe me, when the target is buried in the SIDE of the hole and you don't want to keep digging
up the park to find it, YOU DO need the pinpointer. I can't tell
how many times I failed to find the target.:yo:

Didn't have much time to MD today but the
little pinpointer does work. Dug the target out of the side of the
hole. It was only a pulltab but so what. At least it works.
Never used another pinpointer before so I have nothing to
compare it with for a review. For the cash strapped
metal detectionist the little bugger is ok.

NICE BUY-------I think mine is junk, pretty much have to touch a coin on the end of it before it will go off.

Is it ajustable . How far from the target( coin, pulltab, etc. ) can you hear the pitched squeal?:detecting:

bill i read the manual on that and it has adjustable sensitivity, and This tool will detect metal at a range of approximately 1-1/4

It has a little knob for adjusting the sensitivity. It only penetrates about an inch but I called Whites and they said the Bullseye is about the same depending on the target and the ground.. For $15.00 its a good starter tool.

So far mine is about an inch plus but that depends on the size of the target and the soil, just
like with any detector. If the soil is damp like it is here after the rains it will do better.
For a starter tool and for the money its ok.

There you go Rob, I have been using mine for over a month now, still on the original battery and still going strong. I has been a big help in determining whether to dig deeper or that the target is lodged in the side of the hole. After building a couple of homemade/modified pin pointers this one for the money is the ticket. Money well spent. I would like to compare the performance of this one one on one with a Whites or some other pricier unit, I bet there is not a big difference. I took my soldering iron and melted a couple of holes in the cloth case of mine so the LED and tuning knob can protrude from the case, it just stays in the case now. It cuts down on the loudness a little and is another layer of protection from the abuse I give it. I will also say it is pretty rugged, I just drop it in my goody bag when I am not using it. I find it tunes better when the probe is pointed at the ground, if it is pointed at the sky it just tends to beep constantly when pointed at the ground. The closer it is tuned to the threshold the deeper it goes and the easier it is to get false signals. Have a great day, Happy Hunting All!!
