Great day, sunny and above zero! It was a Go......My buddy and I headed to an old picnic site, hoping to find that elusive silver.

Here's yours truly :) And here's an old picnic table. This is all overgrown now.

A nice area indeed! Lots of moose and deer tracks, still snow on the ground and some moose poop!

After about an hours worth of time into the hunt, I got a bell tone ring, "C" size object at about 5 inches. So, I dug it, and out came a wallet. And some nice coins came with it too.

Here's what the wallet looked like cleaned up a bit.

And here are the coins that were in the wallet, including 3 coins.

Here's all the finds from today. Below are a couple of more silver I managed to get. So a great day it was. Good company, good food and some nice loot!

wahooo john that is so awesome  was the detector the gti 1500 or the 2500 ?

Awesome finds John! I haven't been able to get out latley, I work in health care in Ny State and this swine flu thing has us working very long hours!:garrett:

WTG!:thumbup:Congrats on the silver!:beers: Just curious, any clues as to how old that wallett was/how long it was in the ground? Interesting find. Nice hunt! Thanks for sharing!

Wow that was a good find.
Lots of oldies in those coins.

Just wondering how your hunting buddy made out. Did he find anything of interest ?

Wow....Very nice finds. It's not every day one finds such a nice cache. Too bad you spilled your coffee beans onto the ground.

What a great discovery! I rarely get good targets above size B but I do dig most C sized targets especially around the quarter notch. I've never found 5 silver in one day, in fact I am just 6 or 7 silver coins for the year, so I would rate your hunt 8 out of 10.

Chris

You have to be the only person I know that eats as much fast food as me. I had White Castles for lunch. My detecting day sucked. Lots of pennies. Only two nickels. Decided not to post it and I'd rate it 3 out of 10. Hoping for rain to soften up the ground and back to detecting Saturday afternoon. What a dry April!

I look forawd to days off from work. I always treat myself to some junk food on those days. This old picnic area has never seen a metal detector before. You got to keep your sites quiet at times. :|

It was one of those once every 7 year finds. As we all know, you got to dig a lot of targets, not just the obvious ones.

He got some silver too! Of course finding 3 at once put him behind a couple of laps. As with others, sometimes he walks circles around me.
