It was a nice quarter day...

Got out to have some fun detecting. To my surprise a good amount of quarters showed up. It was one heck of a hunt. Detector was acting up the last hunt and I thought it was the site but this morning I decided to swap out the batteries even though the detector had fun bars on battery power. With the new batteries in the detector, it was back to the old stable F70 again. Chucked the batteries that were in the detector. They were copper tops. But, 2013 is when I picked up over 100 of the copper tops. Only have a few left. I think I will give them to grandson for his XBox1.
Thanks for looking and Happy Trails.....Z

nice! 75 coin day there..:clapping:

I went out yesterday and found exactly 2 zincs!...:sadwalk: They were nice fresh ones though, all shiny and coppery:rofl: Heading out now to get even...

TP63 thanks for reply.
I only put my posting on the forum because I want the new guys to know that not every hunt will produce gold or silver. I know some think that they have been detecting for 2 months and haven't found gold or silver. What am I doing wrong? I also want them to know that they really don't have to swing a $1,000 or more detector to find coins, gold or silver. If I was a bit younger I would take my Compadre and do as TabDog did with his. He showed you could swing a $80 dollar used detector and find a lot of great stuff. Anyway thanks again TP63...

Mud I have had a number of 2-7 coin hunts. I just am thank full I am out in the field digging. Yes 75 coins with 19 quarters. I thought it was a great hunt... Hope you slay those parks today... Z

Good job sir!!
I have found that my 70 does not care for the copper top batteries. It does better longer with the pink rabbit, but best by far are the blue and silver beautues! Cheaper too!
HH Ed in co.

Ed the same here. I like the rabbit ones. I don't know the blue and silver batteries? I will have to look them up. I have about 40 hours before I will have to buy new batteries. I have used the Radio Shack batteries and they work pretty darn good. Deals aren't as good anymore from them. Keep up the good season you got going for yourself.......Z

Nice hunt there zee, that's more coins in one day than I've ever found and some of my hunts has been in excess of 8 hours.

Elton: the wife just loves the F70, finds lots of quarters and some nice jewelry. She doesn't even detect, but the F70 gets me out of the house :bouncy: and those quarters for wash money have been coming in for almost six years. :cheekkiss: She always says what did you find today when I come home? I start with the quarters first. :clapping: You might say the F70 has been keeping my marriage much happier for the past six years. What can I say I am a simple guy.....

SL52: It takes practice (digging targets) and lots of hunts out in the field. The more you use the machine (know the machine) the better you get at it. The more you find. There are a lot of tricks but you have to discover and make them yours before they work. It is a great hobby, enjoy your hunting. The more fun you have detecting the better it gets and you will want to be hunting more. Win Win!!!
Just keep at it and you will find much, much more. If you need help just ask....... Happy Trails.....Z

I will take Quarters all day long! And you never know as I have found my share of shallow silver Quarters also.

Very well said Z.

Congrats on your haul.

Harold Ill: I like to dig quarters and will dig them all day if I ever get a chance to find that many. I usually dig pennies all day.

Shadowulf: Thanks for the nice comment. I use the 6.5" coil all the time. It is light and goes deep enough for me. When I mark the target with the screwdriver it usually hits the target. Of course I have always liked the smaller coils on all of my machines. Using smaller coils keeps the detector from becoming nose heavy. Which means a lot more detecting time in the field.
Thanks guys and Happy Trails.....Z
