It's never really hunted out...

Had some time to take advantage of the "warmer" weather so I hit a park close to home; one I've pounded for the last 2 years or so. Everytime I think I've gotten all I can get out of this one, I get a surprise :) Funny thing is, I got the iffy signal and dug down pretty deep... no target, just a lot of iron around. I thought what I originally heard was some falsing so I filled the hole in. For the heck of it, I rechecked it and there it was again; actually sounded pretty good. I pinpointed about 1" away from where I originally dug. Dug down around the same depth and found another Merc. Sure glad I decided to re-dig :)

Did ya probe the hole after you dug the first time?

I was getting a lot of iron with a peek of a high tone once in a while. That's why I rechecked the hole. I was probably an inch off and that's why I was missing it with the x-1

What do you mean warm weather????????

Warm weather is when it's not windy and it's in the low 40's. It was cold and snowy Thursday - Friday but the ground was like butter today. Saturday there were a couple of frozen spots but nothing that difficult to cut through.

What I would give for low 40's!!!!! :detecting:

I've got 43 silvers this year and 13 of them are Mercs... the two oldest were a '17 and today's '18. You're right... you don't see many of those.

I'd like to hit 50 before years end :) Maybe the weather will hold up :)
