Ok, so I'm a newbie and I'm an old codger but I have had a rude awakening and thought I would share it with anyone who cares to listen.
Did some practice swinging in my warm basement with my new MXT. Figured I would place a variety of coins and other metal objects to see how they sound. Very first time I have tried to use it. WOW!!
After just a couple of minutes it felt as though my arm was going to fall off. <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
I did not really think I was in such poor physical condition but seldom used muscles and a touch of arthritus can raise havoc with an old body.
For the past couple of weeks I have been practicing swinging my arm from full right to full left while driving my car. I have progressed to being able to do it for 30 minutes while holding a full coffee cup.
Actually, from full right side over the passenger seat I bring my hand over the steering wheel and up to my left shoulder. Watch out, don't hit the steering wheel or you'll end up with a wet lap.:grin Believe it or not, I have not done it for a couple of days and my shoulder still hurts. Figure I'll give it a rest and resume my practice when it quits being sore.
Any other old codgers may want to check this out before the TH season is upon us. I am glad I had this unpleasant warning in time to do something about it.
Maybe I'm just too old!
