I've been looking through my old nickels....

Didn't know I had a key date Liberty nickel but there was one in the pile! 1886 trends around $265 in GOOD grade. Maybe I can get $100 for this ugly nickel! Also have 2 1884's but sadly no 1885.

Nice "find"! I tumbled a couple thousand of my wheaties from the past 5 years yesterday and "re-discovered" some better dates in higher grade when I sorted through them. The escalating coin market has made many "cheaper" dates from a few years ago worth a considerable amount of money today. It makes you want to recheck a lot of coins you already have for their current value, and for a lot of new die varieties being reported since this recent coin collecting boom took off. Take care and HH, Mike.

Even in that condition, it's still a great find. I think I would keep it just because of how hard that date is to find in any condition. Congrats once again. Good Luck and HH.

I should probably look at my coin book and coins and see what I have  been too lazy to do that

Congrats on having a key date coin.
