Hey Jeff,

What part of South Carolina do you live as I saw you mention the snow. I live in North Carolina and thought maybe you could hook me up with a site to hunt (just kidding, wouldn't want to trouble anybody). Here in Earl not too much going on in the military battlefield area or anything else for that matter but it is close to Blacksburg, SC. Do you have any history on that area (wish I could find some links on the internet that would provide info for this area). Almost every researchable site wants your credit card.

Thanks for the welcome Mike. I've been on the forum for a while and a Christian since I was a teenager. I usually frequent the buy and sell forum (trying to find that magic detector) you know the one that finds all the treasure after it has gained permission for you to hunt. I buy a lot of detectors but somehow I'm always trapped at home (could be my shy nature being I'm an introvert). Nice to see Christians professing there faith and forming a detecting family worth being a part of. Thanks Jeff I hope you can help me out on the historical side of this area. I wish I was bold about asking for permission but alas I'm not. I also work weekends so not much tot lot hunting either but I still love the sport.

Welcome Michaelnc and glad you have come aboard the CMD Forum! Hope you post often and have some goodies to tell about or show us, as it keeps others encouraged to keep or waiting until the ice and cold, white stuff have gone and Spring has sprung with ground thawed for digging! I don't do much detecting any more because of my health but sure did for many, many years and really liked getting out and enjoying God's beautiful creations and finding something nice once in a great while! God Bless and hope you find lots of nice coins and etc!

go to the county records or look around for old houses to hunt. You have to ask to hunt, but you had
alot of things going on in the Rev. War .

Open fields with rivers or creeks, check high land around the them. Old home, camp site ....
