Jewelry Settings

I was curious what settings you folks use when jewelry hunting in parks and beaches with the AT Pro. And by jewelry I don't just mean rings, but chains, pendants, etc.

I assume you start out in Pro Mode, but any other pointers you are willing to share would be sincerely appreciated.

I am also using the 5x8 coil for this purpose.

Are there any target ID numbers or patterns of numbers that you ignore?

Not really....jewelry can really vary!!
Small chains read very low.
Large gold rings read near nickels and right thru to silver.
I think someone once posted a chart....keep in mind that this is only a guide cause depending on many factors, the ID's can vary for the same item.

I found this chart on another site

Yes, that information is very much appreciated!

I have to wonder if there any gold targets that come in under "40".

Keep in mind that depending on depth, mineralization, and masking these ID's can vary substantially.
The only real way to be absolutely certain is to dig.
Often real targets sound better than trash but there are no guarantees.
Bobby Pins or Hair Pins often drive me crazy at the beach cause they can sound like a good target, and ID almost everywhere.

I found a small broken chain, In one of my Tot Lots, that came in at The foil- Iron Range with a jumpy VDI.
